MATERIALS
2.1 Stainless, Aluminium, Zintec & Galvanized will be cut with high pressure nitrogen, coated material may leave residue on edges. Laser cutting tolerances +/- 0.3mm. Waterjet tolerance +/- 0.5mm. Optimized does not guarantee parts to be 100% scratch free. There are likely to be scratches on the bottom face due to the laser bed.
2.2 All Free Issue materials are cut at the customers risk of any damages and/or errors, replacement materials will need to be supplied by the customer. Materials supplied with coating must be laser compatible, there will be a charge for the removal of non-compatible plastic, Optimized are not liable to any damages whilst removing the plastic coating.

You will need to advise in writing before order stage if this is not suitable.

DELIVERY/COLLECTION
3.1 We reserve the right to deliver orders that are not collected within 3 working days from notification of completion which will be chargeable to the customer. Special packing requirements must be stated on order.
DRAWINGS
4.1 Amendments to existing parts stored on our system must be clearly identified with the part / drawing number they supersede.
4.2 Additional charges for drafting will be made for non-standard processed parts where inadequate or unreadable NC files that require redrafting are supplied. This charge will be at £45 / hour and times will need to be agreed prior to commencing drawing. Delays in agreeing this charge may affect delivery dates.
4.3 Any amendments to drawings supplied by the customer after receival of order confirmation may incur a re-programming charge at the programmer’s rate of £25pH.
4.4 End elevations of formed components should be provided to ensure clarity of Customers requirements.
4.5 Cut, Etched and Text objects on drawings should be clearly identified on separate layers. Any advised delivery dates are subject to receipt of confirmed drawings from the Customer.
4.6 Drawings sent with Confirmation of Order should be checked immediately and any changes required made within 24 hours of the confirmation sent.
CAD FILES
5.1 All electronic cad data (DXF / DWG etc) when supplied should be 1:1, these will be used for quoting and production purposes unless we are specifically informed in writing that the CAD data is different from the order.
5.2 Parts will be cut exactly as the geometry in the cad data, manually added overwritten dimensions and annotations will be ignored.
5.3 Drawings should be supplied 1:1, any scaling should be noted in the text on your drawings and brought to the attention of your salesperson.
5.4 When patterned or coated material is shown the pattern or coating must be on the side being viewed. Plastic coating will be taken as plastic side up unless noted or indicated otherwise. If plastic coating side is crucial, this must be clearly specified on the drawings provided. All patterned plate drawings will be taken as pattern side to view unless noted / indicated otherwise.
5.5 Any changes made by Optimized to CAD drawings will be returned to the customer for confirmation, work will not commence until Customer approval has been received.
5.6 Please check CAD drawings carefully as whatever appears on a CAD drawing will be cut.
5.7 Any revision to a customer’s part number must be brought to the attention of the Salesperson. Any changes to CAD files or drawing information from the original files sent to the sales person must be brought the sales persons attention before order stage.
5.8 All components must be clearly marked with what is to be cut and what is to be marked/etched. All parts must be clearly labelled with a induvial part number.
5.9 The customer must advise if the CAD file contains anything other than 2D cutting of the part i.e. countersunk holes, tapping, chamfer edge.
5.10 Text can be lost during CAD file transfer – Text instructions should be sent separate to the CAD file, preferably on a PDF document.
5.11 On parts that have a “brushed finish”(DP1) the grain direction must be clearly identified if it needs to be running in a certain direction.
PROCESSING
6.1 Long thin components may be subject to distortion when processed.
6.2 If material is coated both sides, one side will be removed to facilitate cutting, while we will handle with care, scratching can occur.
6.3 Mechanical handling can cause surface scratches, Customers are requested to advice if a scratch free surface is required prior to order.
6.4 Although we cannot guarantee a scratch free product, we will endeavour to keep the scratching down to a minimum.
6.5 Plastic coating may need to be removed during the cutting process on more intricate parts.
FORMING
7.1 Tooling marks may be present on pressed material.
7.2 Material that is formed with the grain may be subject to cracking therefore we are unable to guarantee crack free material.
7.3 We are unable to offer the internal radius requested on customers drawings as this is determined by the current tooling held, we will advise the radius that we can achieve.
7.4 Cross contamination can occur when folding Stainless and aluminium material.
LASER
8.1 Material edge striations can occur on plate thicknesses of 15mm and over.
8.2 Burring can occur on stainless and aluminium material on plate thicknesses of 6mm and over.
8.3 Plastic coatings on small components may be removed by the laser process.
8.4 Coated material when cut will leave a small residue around any internal or external contours of the part.
8.5 Edges of contours will be hardened due to the thermal cutting process.
8.6 A light coating of oil on the material may be present as this prevents molten spatter adhering to the surface during processing.
8.7 Etch marking on laser material can be etched if clearly requested. Etch marking can only be marked to the top side of the part. If a location is not specified, the programmer will place the etch mark at their preferred location.
8.8 We cannot guarantee an edge finish.
PLATE DRILLING
9.1 A light coating of oil in areas around drilled holes will be present due to processing.
SAW & DRILL
10.1 A light coating of oil in areas around drilled holes will be present due to processing.
10.2 We are unable to deburr material after sawing and customers are advised to take the necessary Health & Safety precautions to prevent the possibility of accidents.
10.3 All lengths shown on mitre cutting are long to long measurements.
WATERJET
11.1 Discolouration will occur on the surface of aluminium plate.
11.2 The quality of cutting required must be specified by the Customer at the point of order, otherwise a standard quality cut will be used.
11.3 Plastic coatings on small components may be removed during processing. Burring can occur on aluminium.
CREDIT CONTROL
12.1 Stock will not be reserved until credit clearance has been achieved.
12.2 Delays may subsequently mean that stock has been sold elsewhere.
12.3 Delays due to credit issues may adversely affect ultimate delivery dates. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that their credit account is within its agreed terms before placing an order.
12.4 The customers order may be stopped at anytime during the production process if the customer account is not within its payment terms.
